Barb Felschow is a first generation Canadian of European descent.   She is the current Board Vice Chair/President of Gabriel Dumont Non-Profit Homes (Metro Toronto Inc.) and has served on the Board and worked with the community at GDNPH for twenty five years. 

 Barb was the Principal at Eastview P.S. for ten years and the Central Principal for Indigenous Education with Toronto District School Board for multiple years thereafter.  As a lifelong learner her early years were guided by First Nations Elders who shared teachings within a northern community.

An identified ally by the Urban Indigenous Elders Council she continues to learn from and work with FNMI community members proudly carrying her Eagle feather with her as she continues to participate in ceremonies while honouring Indigenous protocol and procedures.

 As an ally Barb underscores her role as a support person following the lead of Indigenous Community members and is focused on listening intently while creating and maintaining relationships that follow the sacred teachings and honour the history of FNMI peoples.
