Rental Application Process
Completing the Rental Application Form
The Rental Application must be completed in full and signed and dated by all applicants who are 16 years of age or older. Applicants 16 and over must also provide:
- Updated proof of income from all sources.
- Government-issued ID for all applicants and occupants.
- Proof of Indigenous Ancestry (TASSC guideline requirement)
Those applicants wanting to apply for rent-geared-to-income assistance please reach out to the tenant administration team for further instructions.
Landlord and Province-Wide arrears Check
GDNP Homes will conduct both a landlord reference check and a PWAD for each applicant.
Interview
Applicants will be notified when an interview has been scheduled.
- All household members aged 16 and older must attend the interview.
- Failure to attend the interview may result in the application being withdrawn.
Successful Applicants
Successful applicants will receive notice confirming they have been placed on the external waiting list.
Applicants are responsible for keeping their contact information up to date so GDNP Homes can reach them when a unit becomes available.
Wait List Time
The length of time on the waiting list depends on:
- Unit availability, and Size requested
- The date the completed application was received.
Failure to Accept a Unit
If a unit is offered and declined, the application will be withdrawn.
Stale-Dated Applications
If GDNP Homes has not heard from an applicant within three (3) years after the application has been approved, the application will be considered stale-dated, and the applicant will need to reapply.
